It is no more news that the world has been in the most critical time with the recent COVID-19 pandemic. The coronavirus has twisted the entire globe to a form of seemly reset. As a matter of fact, we have had a lot of questions concerning the consistency of our operations, which never stopped regardless of the State-wide lockdown which took place in April 2020.

Import & Export Experience Since the Pandemic
During the lockdown, imports and exports of valuable items from several countries around the globe, especially China and Dubai were still being carried out regardless of the situation as there were rising needs and demands for relief materials across the globe.
Some medical-related items of protective relief such as the face protective mask, hand sanitizers, soap dispenser, etc gained an astronomical increase in demand because these items are essentials to help fight and manage the Coronavirus.
Recall that the Federal Government of Nigeria, in March 2020, amidst the scarcity of the face mask, had banned the incoming passenger and cargo flights activities in spite of a shortage of masks, ventilators and other medical effects.
Although this was with a good motive, in a bid to containing the virus by way of restricting access into the country. The decision, however, actually created lots of panics as crisis loomed.
Within a few days, the bans on cargo flights to Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja was relaxed for cargo flights particularly.

Apparently, this has helped to curb or control the situation of shortages of facemasks, surgical masks as well as other medical essentials needed in Africa’s most populous country.
With the obvious militating factors on around, most clients have had to pause imports and probably diversify or change the line of importation to strictly relief materials which are in currently high demands globally.
We understand and sympathise with the losses that might have been encountered by some importers and exporters within the period but wish to communicate that there are a lot more to understand about the situation and our businesses.
